Don’t Resist Technology, Elevate It
As AI reshapes education, one question keeps coming up: what do we still need humans to do best?
Today I will speak with the faculty at the University of Southern California’s Bovard College to explore that question — and to share a framework to prepare students for what algorithms can’t do.
While AI excels at automating, predicting, and synthesizing, its strengths reveal the enduring power of human skills:
• Discernment – filtering truth from noise
• Judgment – deciding with incomplete or conflicting data
• Cultural Fluency – leading across diverse contexts
• Leadership – guiding teams with empathy and wisdom
These are the Future Skills that matter most — not because they resist technology, but because they elevate it.
Every parent wants their child to thrive in a world shaped by AI.
How are you preparing your high-school or gap-year student for what algorithms can’t do?
